NI-CO Headquarters Open In Belfast

New headquarters of Northern Ireland Cooperation Overseas (NI-CO) have been opened at the Belfast Gasworks site.

NI-CO promotes the business potential of Northern Ireland overseas and has so far delivered over 600 training projects in 77 countries. Over the past year the organisation has been involved with projects in Europe, Asia, North Africa, Caribbean and Middle East.

Speaking at NI-CO’s new headquarters, Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster said: "NI-CO continues to play an important ambassadorial role in showcasing our vast reservoir of expertise across the globe, helping to deliver cutting edge initiatives and programmes that enhance lives across the developing world.

"For example, in Burma NI-CO has just started work on a €9.5m EU flagship project which aims to bring stability to a country plagued by conflict, while in Jordan the company has recently embarked on a large social care programme to tackle discrimination and support vulnerable families."

NI-CO employs 24 full time staff at its Belfast headquarters and over 120 field staff in project offices overseas.
