PSNI involved in Turkish operation

PSNI officers have aided in the break-up of a multi-million pound counterfeit clothing operation in Turkey.

Officers from Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and Turkey liaised during an operation that resulted in the raid of a Turkish factory.

Fake football tops were among the items seized. It is believed they were eventually to be shipped to the province as part of the operation.

Head of the Police Service of Northern Ireland's Serious and Organised Crime Squad, Detective Superintendent Andy Sproule, said he was delighted with the results.
