Missing Hill Walker Named

Scottish police have named a missing hill walker last seen walking in the Ben Alder and Loch Ossian areas of the Highlands as 64-year-old Michael O'Grady from Irvinestown, Northern Ireland.

Mr O'Grady was last seen on Sunday 22 December 2013, having left the Loch Ossian Youth Hostel, intending to walk to Culra Bothy.

He is described as 5ft 6 tall, slim build with grey hair and is an experienced hill walker.

Police Scotland are eager to speak with anyone who may have seen or spoken to him that day.

It is thought that Mr O'Grady may have been seen by a group of five hill walkers on the day in question close to Ben Alder.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland.

PSNI Appeal For Information Following Banbridge Shooting
PSNI Detectives have issued an appeal for information following a shooting incident in Banbridge on Friday, 12 April. Shortly after 8pm, it was reported that a man aged in his 40s had been shot in his abdomen while in the car park on Rathfriland Road. Taken to hospital, his condition has been described as serious.

DoH Prioritises Stabilising Services At Daisy Hill Hospitals
Representatives of the Department of Health (DoH) have met with Daisy Hill Hospital campaigners to discuss the ongoing work to stabilise services. The DoH has told the campaigners that priorities for this stabilisation work include safeguarding service provision, minimising potential bed reductions and protecting the Emergency Department.
