Basque Representatives Visit Belfast City Hall

Belfast Lord Mayor Máirtín Ó Muilleoir has met representatives of the Basque Government during their visit to Belfast City Hall.

The representatives are in Belfast to learn about the council's Good Relations Strategy and its reconciliation work.

The visit forms part of the 'Peace Network' work of the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB), which manages the EU's PEACE III Programme.

The Network is designed to share knowledge and experiences of peace building work across Europe and further afield.

At the meeting, Councillor Ó Muilleoir was presented with a copy of the Basque government 'Plan for Peace and Coexistence' by Jonan Fernandez, General Secretary for Peace and Cohabitation and Pat Colgan, Chief Executive of the SEUPB.
