NI man wins 'Young Achiever' retail award

A Northern Ireland man has come out top in the search for Europe's leading 'Young Achiever of the Year’ award within retail management.

Paul Beacom, 27, manager of Meadowlane Shopping Centre in Magherafelt, out-stripped manager's from the UK’s leading shopping centres to pick up the coveted ‘SCEPTRE (Shopping Centre Excellence in People, Towns and Retail) Award’ at a gala awards ceremony in London.

Paul, who became manager of Meadowlane in November 2001, said that his success in the prominent awards scheme was testimony to his hard work and commitment over the last year as well as to the innovation and support of staff and colleagues at Meadowlane.

The SCEPTRE awards reward the UK and Ireland’s best centre managers.
