Wrightbus Secures Major Orders

Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster has welcomed Wrightbus International's announcement that, in partnership with Volvo Bus, it has secured major orders from two Hong Kong based bus operators.

New World First Bus Services Limited has ordered 20 new double deck buses, while Citybus Limited will purchase 31. These are new customers for the Ballymena-based bus building company.

During a recent visit to Singapore, Arlene Foster witnessed the signing of the contract with Masdef, a recently appointed assembly partner and distributor of Wrightbus International.

Arlene Foster said: "This is a substantial order for Wrightbus International which is one of Northern Ireland's most pioneering manufacturing firms.

"The company's partnership agreements with Volvo Bus and Masdef have proved to be a successful way to secure valuable business with new customers such as New World First Bus Services.

"I hope this contract will help Wrightbus leverage future business in the region."
