Over 100 Jobs Created By New Owners Of Former Steel Plant

Some 120 new jobs have been created at the former Rowecord steel site in Newport with the announcement that AIC Steel Group has taken over the site.

The plant on Usk Way will become the AIC's new UK manufacturing hub and is expected to produce almost 20,000 tons of structural steel a year when operational.

The former Rowecord plant closed when it was placed in administration in April last year, with the loss of 430 people.

It is understood that a number of former Rowecord employees have already been recruited by AIC Steel.

Recruitment of the remaining roles is underway.
