£8m Stimulus Package Sought For Infrastructure Projects

Sinn Féin have announced that it is working to secure a £8.24m (€1bn) stimulus package for infrastructure projects.

Martina Anderson, MEP, made the announcement during an event hosted in Knock Presbyterian Church on Tuesday night to discuss European issues.

"There are huge opportunities in Europe for the drawdown of funding from the European Investment Bank," said Martina Anderson.

"We need to get the ban lifted on the Executive accessing funds from the European Investment Bank.

"Therefore I am working to achieve a €1bn stimulus package, which could fund the A5 and A6 road schemes, the Narrow Water Bridge, the Desertcreat police and fire training college and a new Children's Hospital – all of which would create jobs."
