Police Uncover Cannabis Factory

A cannabis factory has been discovered by police following a search of a property in east Belfast.

At around 10pm on Wednesday night, officers were called to an address in Wandsworth Crescent following a report of anti-social behaviour, according to reports. A search was carried out and plants and growing equipment were discovered worth an estimated £5,500, police have said.

A man, understood to be aged 30, was arrested on suspicion of a number of drugs offences. He remains in police custody.

A search was later carried out on an unoccupied property in the Greenville road area of the city where detectives uncovered cannabis plants worth an estimated £50,000.

Police have seized herbal cannabis, worth an estimated street value of £1 million, in Belfast. The discovery was made during a stop and search of two vehicles in the Dargan Road area on Tuesday. Suspected Class B drugs were also seized during the search.
