Man Arrested In Jean McConville Investigation
A 56-year-old man has been arrested by detectives investigating the abduction and murder of Jean McConville in 1972.
The man presented himself to police on Wednesday morning. He is being questioned at Antrim police station. The move follows his arrest last month, which was delayed due to a medical issue.
37-year-old Jean McConville was a mother of ten who was abducted from her flat in the Divis area of west Belfast and shot by the IRA. Her body was only discovered in 2003 on a beach in County Louth.
The arrest follows the four-day police detention and questioning of Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams, who was released on Sunday. Mr Adams has always denied any involvement in the abduction and murder.
