Queen Begins Three-Day Visit

The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are to arrive in Northern Ireland today for a three-day visit.

They will attend a number of public engagements from Monday (23 June) until 25 June.

As part of their tour, they will visit Belfast's Crumlin Road Gaol, as well as the set of hit television series Game of Thrones, which is located in the Titanic Quarter of the city. They will also attend a lunch at Belfast City Hall, and a Royal British Legion reception in Coleraine.

It is understood the Royal couple's first engagement however, will be at Hillsborough Castle, where they will meet with First Minister Peter Robinson, deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness and Secretary of State Theresa Villiers.

The Queen last visited Northern Ireland in 2012 as part of her Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

Appeal Following Attempted Kidnapping In Belfast City Centre
