Homes Evacuated In Ballymoney Alert

A number of properties have been evacuated in Ballymoney due to a security alert.

On Monday morning, a suspicious object was discovered on the Ballymena Road in the area. The road has since been closed in both directions, as has the Kilraghts Road and Garryduff Road.

Motorists have been advised to avoid the area.

In addition to homes being evacuated, it is understood residents in a nearby care home have also been moved.

Army bomb disposal teams are at the scene.

No further details have been released.

Man Dies In Workplace Accident In Co Armagh
A man has died in a workplace accident in Co Armagh. It is believed the man was crushed by a road roller while a new road surface was being laid on the Bog Road, Forkhill, on Wednesday, 31 May. Police and the Health and Safety Executive have launched an investigation.
