Detained Belfast man returns home
The Northern Ireland journalist detained in Israel for questioning following an intelligence tip-off has returned home to Belfast.
Sean O Muireagáin, 40, arrived at Belfast City Airport following a five day ordeal in which he was arrested by Israeli security forces reportedly acting on information from UK security services.
Mr O Muireagáin flew into Heathrow Airport from Tel Aviv on Thursday morning. There he was questioned by detectives from Metropolitan Police before being allowed to leave by a private exit to avoid waiting reporters.
Daily Irish language newspaper, La, said Mr O Muireagáin was working as its correspondent while in the country.
The radio station, the Voice of Israel external service in Jerusalem, reported on Wednesday that the arrest of the west Belfast man was a "case of mistaken identity".
Mr O Muireagáin was expected to address the media late on Thursday.
