West Yorkshire Chief Constable Questioned In PSNI Vehicle Investigation

The PSNI is currently questioning the Chief Constable of West Yorkshire Police as part of continuing investigations into discrepancies within the awarding of vehicle contracts.

Mark Gilmore has been suspended on full pay by West Yorkshire Police, it has been announced, and voluntarily attended a police station in Belfast for interview last week.

The PSNI has arrested a total of seven men so far on offences including bribery, misconduct in public office and procuring misconduct in public office, as part of the investigation.

A PSNI statement said: "Detectives are also preparing a file on a 49-year-old man following inquiries into bribery and misconduct in public office which were initiated by this investigation. He voluntarily attended a police station in Belfast last week for interview."

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Woodburn Police Pipe Bomb Condemned
A local political reprehensive has slammed those behind an attempted bomb attack at a police station over the past weekend. Sinn Féin MLA for West Belfast Sue Ramsey has stated that those behind a pipe bomb attack on Woodburn PSNI station continue to endanger the local community.
