Metro Drivers Consider Strike Action
The Unite union has said that it will ballot its members on possible strike action at Translink after talks on pay ended without agreement.
It is understood that talks ceased after the transport company withdrew a proposed pay increase, blaming Stormont cuts to public transport funding.
The dispute involves Metro bus drivers.
The union said that a meeting will be held on Wednesday after which a decision would be made.

Finance Minister Announces New Ciivil Servant Pay Offer
The Finance Minister has announced a new pay offer for civil servants, which would see the majority receive a 5% consolidated increase plus a one-off £1,500 non-consolidated payment. The pay offer followed negotiations with recognised industrial and non-industrial civil service trade unions.

Northern Ireland's largest strike in around 50 years has gotten underway today, 18 January. Around 170,000 public sector workers are taking part in the industrial action. Members from over 15 unions including health, education and transport workers are taking part in the day of mass industrial action.
