Dogs Killed In Portadown Fire
Two dogs have been killed in a fire in Portadown, County Armagh.
The fire began when a resident in Ballyoran Park was burning rubbish, the fire got out of control and spread via a wooden fence to oil tanks at two properties.
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service was called at about 16:00. A woman and child who were in the house escaped without injury.
Strabane Alert 'A Hoax'
A security alert in Strabane, County Tyrone that left elderly people out of their homes for several hours on Sunday has been declared a hoax.
A suspicious object was discovered in the garden of a house at Innisfree Gardens just after midday.
Bomb experts attended and declared the device a hoax. The alert is now over.
Man Charged With Knife Possession, South Belfast
A 24-year-old man has been charged with possessing knives in a public place after he was stopped and searched in south Belfast.
Police attended the scene after receiving a report of a man acting suspiciously in the Sunnyside Street area off the Ormeau Road at about 09:00 on Sunday morning.
The man was searched and found to be in possession of two knives.
He has been charged with two counts of possessing an article with a blade or point in public place and is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court on Friday 3 October.
'Paramilitary' Shooting, Ardoyne
A 'paramilitary-style' shooting has been carried out in the Ardoyne area of north Belfast on Saturday evening.
Police are investigating the incident, which occurred in an alley way in the Havana Walk area of north Belfast at around 20:20.
A man was taken to hospital for treatment to a gunshot wound to each foot.

ASSEMBLY CREATE AWARD TO HONOUR FIRE SERVICE
THE Northern Ireland Fire Service is to receive the first ever award given by the province's devolved assembly. An illuminated scroll is to be presented to Chief Fire Officer John McClelland on Tuesday, by assembly speaker Lord Alderdice in tribute to the sacrifice made by fire fighters over the years.

NI's Chief Fire Officer Announces His Retirement
The Chief Fire Officer for Northern Ireland, Peter Craig, has announced that he is to retire after over 35 years of distinguished Service. Peter Craig is one of the longest serving officers in Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service and was appointed as Chief Fire Officer in February 2011, having been the acting Chief from July 2010.

UK-Born Limerick Fireman Compensated
An English-born firefighter has been awarded €5,000 in compensation for discrimination by Limerick City Council. An Equality Tribunal heard Martin Mannering, now living in Cappamore, Co Limerick was left a note to leave his job because he was no longer "in Middlesbrough".
