Belfast Opens Its 'Edible Gardens' To The Public

Belfast Council has announced the city will be partaking in this year's 'Edible Gardens Open Day', in which over 100 community food-growing gardens across the UK will be opening their gates to the public.

Edible Gardens Open Day takes place on Saturday and is now in its third year as a national event. 4,000 people visited the gardens last year.

The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) will be at community gardens at Grove in north Belfast and Musgrave in the south of the city.

The day aims to "raise awareness of community gardens and encourage more people to get involved in growing their own as an alternative way to get healthy and meet your neighbours."

The gardens will be open from 10:00 - 14:00 and entry is free.
