£4m Invested In Castlereagh Roads

£4m has been invested in now-completed road schemes in the Castlereagh Borough Council area in 2013/14, the Department of Regional Development has said.

Speaking ahead of this evening's meeting between DRD and Castlereagh Borough Council, Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy said: "My Department has invested over £135million in structural maintenance, improving the many miles of road infrastructure across Northern Ireland in the last financial year.

"In particular in the Castlereagh Borough Council area, despite ever increasing demands on budgets, DRD invested over £4million in delivering a comprehensive range of road schemes and maintenance work."

Highlighting resurfacing schemes, the Minister said: "Road users in Castlereagh have quickly realised the benefits of the investment by my Department with the completion of a number of carriageway resurfacing schemes at Hillsborough Road, Moneyreagh, Glen Road, Gransha Road, as well as Robbs Road, Dundonald."
