Sinn Féin Matches Fine Gael In Electoral Support
Sinn Féin is neck-and-neck with Fine Gael in terms of electoral support in the Republic of Ireland, according to a new survey by the Irish Times.
The latest Irish Times/Ipsos MRBI poll shows both parties on 24% of support, with Independents on 23%, Fianna Fail on 20% and Labour lingering behind on 9%.
However, in terms of party leadership, the poll showed 27% support for Labour's Joan Burton, 35% for Sinn Féin's Gerry Adams and just 26% each for Enda Kenny and Fianna Fail leader Micheál Martin.
Ms Burton took over as leader of Labour and Tánaiste in July 2014, succeeding Eamon Gilmore in both those roles.

SF Taking Poll Position
A survey published in today's Belfast Telegraph has suggested that Sinn Féin could become the largest political party in Northern Ireland. The poll of 1,080 adults was carried out by Inform Communications over a five day period following last week's deal between the DUP and Sinn Féin at Hillsborough Castle.
