100 Jobs To Be Created By Johnson & Johnson

Johnson & Johnson is to create up to 100 new jobs in Limerick.

Information Technology Shared Services, a division of Johnson & Johnson Services, said the jobs are through the creation of a Development Centre at the National Technology Park, Plassey, Limerick.

Recruitment for the information technology positions is to start immediately, and the positions are expected to be filled over the next two years.

The investment is being supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, through IDA Ireland.

Minister of Education and Skills, Jan O'Sullivan TD, said: "This is more positive jobs news for Limerick and I am delighted that Johnson & Johnson is expanding its operations in the City again.

"The close collaboration between Johnson & Johnson, LIT and UL to enhance the city as an IT hub by providing skilled talent has been central to winning this investment for the Mid-West.

"It is proof positive of the excellent relationships, with both indigenous and multinational industry, that both LIT and UL are continually developing. This significant investment will further enhance Limerick's reputation as a dynamic hub for the growing information services sector."

270 New Jobs Announced At Ethicon Biosurgery
Fine Gael Limerick TD, Kieran O'Donnell, has welcomed the announcement that 270 new high-end jobs are to be created at Ethicon Biosurgery in the National Technological Park in Limerick as a result of an €80m investment by the company. Ethicon Biosurgery is part of the Johnson and Johnson Group, which already has substantial operations in Plassey.

US Firms Announce Limerick Jobs Boost
Seventy-five new jobs are to be created in Limerick, thanks to investments by two US firms. Vistakon Inc, a division of Johnson & Johnson, is to invest €100 million in expanding its manufacturing operations, which already employs 600 people at its state-of-the-art facility in the National Technology Park, adjacent to the University of Limerick.

IT Firm Creates 100 New Jobs
Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton, TD, today announced that Mandiant, a specialist provider of IT security solutions is to establish an engineering and security operations centre in Dublin with the creation of 100 new jobs.

Offshore Company Axes Jobs
Around 150 jobs in Aberdeen and Dundee have been axed after an offshore services company ceased trading. Oceanteam Power and Umbilical has been forced to close when the firm's holding company withdrew its financial support. Staff are based in Aberdeen, at workshops in Dundee and offshore.

Northern Trust To Create Up To 400 New Jobs
Northern Trust is to expand it's Limerick operations with the addition of 400 new jobs over the next five years, the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Mary Mitchell O'Connor, and Minister for Finance Michael Noonan have announced.
