Belfast Named The World's Most 'Business Friendly City'

Belfast has been named the world's most 'Business Friendly City' of its size by the foreign direct investment (fDi) intelligence division of the Financial Times.

Research for fDi's Global Cities of the Future 2014/15 included analysis of data from 130 locations across the globe including cities with populations of more than 10 million people to small and medium sized locations like Belfast.

Not only was the city judged to be the world's top business friendly in the small to medium category, but it was also named in the world’s top 10 cities for Business Friendliness of any size – beating locations like Dubai and Tokyo.

Lord Mayor Nichola Mallon said: "We believe Belfast offers an attractive package of cost-competitive business infrastructure alongside a highly skilled workforce and great quality of life, all in one compact and connected city.

"The fDi award endorses what our investors already know – Belfast is a great place to do business!"
