Three Detained In Dissident Probe

Three men have been arrested by the PSNI in connection with dissident republican activity.

The men, aged 24, 25 and 43, were arrested in the cityside and waterside areas of L'Derry on Thursday.

They have been taken to Antrim Police Station for questioning.

UUP Back Call For Action On Domestic Violence Laws
The leader of the Ulster Unionist Party has backed a call for Westminster to extend legislation that provides protection from coercive control to Northern Ireland. 22 schools in Northern Ireland may be considered for closure due to sustainability issues, the latest Education Authority report has found. In some areas there are too many school places for the population size, while in others there are not enough places for pupils, as revealed in the third of three Annual Action Plans.

Alliance Seek Action Against Tyre Suppliers
The Alliance Party is calling for action to be taken against those supplying tyres for local bonfires. It comes after 1,800 tyres were removed from a site on the London Road in east Belfast on Sunday, with more then taken from the Avoniel bonfire on Monday.

Two Men Arrested Over Peggy O'Hara Funeral Released
Two men arrested in connection with dissident republican activity in relation to a number of offences at the wake and funeral of Peggy O'Hara in July have been released. The men, aged 53 and 34, were detained in Strabane on Tuesday by detectives from the Serious Crime Branch.

Three Men Arrested Over Dissident Terrorist Activity
Three men have been arrested in Lurgan over dissident terrorist activity. The men are aged 47, 42 and 41. Police are conducting searches on three houses in the area and a number of items have been taken for forensic examination.
