Waste Systems Ltd Announces Expansion Plans
A County Tyrone company that specialises in the manufacture of waste separation machinery is expanding to meet demand for its products, with support from Invest Northern Ireland.
Award-winning Waste Systems Ltd is building new manufacturing facilities on a seven acre site in Doogary Industrial Estate, Omagh to allow it to increase production capacity, and plans to create 36 new jobs over the next two years. To maintain its focus on innovation, the company is keeping its current Plumbridge premises as a research and development centre.
Nishi Ward, who set up the business in 2009, said: "The new premises will enable us to have better control over production costs, production lead time and product quality. To realise our ambitious growth plans, we will also continue to work with selected local fabrication partners who can meet our high quality standards at a competitive cost.
"We aim to double sales over the next three years, with all output being exported. Our success has been built on investment in research and development and we have recently developed two new products to complement our core machines Max X Tract and Flex X Tract."
The new products have been developed with R&D support from Invest NI, part funded by the European Regional Development Fund. One is a machine to separate dense waste material, such as iron ore, coal, china clay and landfill waste, while the second new machine, Hydro X Tract, uses water to separate waste.

Plastics Workers Get Second Chance Of Jobs
The purchase of a bankrupt specialist plastics firm in Co Armagh by a new owner is expected to give the firm's former staff a new lease of life. Seventy people were working at Reflex Mouldings in Markethill when it went into administration in June. Now, the workers will be offered new jobs by the firm's new owners.
