Motorcyclist Killed In Antrim Crash

A motorcyclist has been killed in a two-vehicle crash in Ballycarry, Co Antrim.

The accident occurred between a bike and a lorry on the A2 Larne Road at about 12:15 on Tuesday afternoon.

A rapid response vehicle came across the scene and alerted emergency services.

The road was closed between Ballypollard Road, Magheramorne and the Lough Road, Ballycarry but has since reopened.

Anyone who witnessed the accident or who was travelling on the Larne Road around the time is asked to contact the Collision Investigation Unit at Steeple Police Station or local police at Larne on the non-emergency number 101.

Man Arrested For Headbutting Female Police Officer
A 22-year-old man has been arrested in Newry for assaulting a police officer. While responding to a domestic related report, a local female officer was headbutted to the head, which caused swelling and bruising. The officer was seen by medical staff and her injuries were not more serious and she felt well enough to remain on duty.
