Ambulance Workers To Strike On Thursday
NI Ambulance workers will stage a walk out at midday on Thursday for twelve hours in a dispute over pay.
The workers are taking part in the strike action after the NHS rejected a call to implement a 1% increase in staff salaries across the board, despite a recommendation from the government pay review body.
Speaking on BBC NI's Good Morning Ulster, GMB's Michael Mulholland, said: "Our members have agreed that they will respond, should there be a major incident or a large number of emergency calls.
"We want a commitment from the health minister, Jim Wells, that he will adhere to recommendations from the pay review body and pay all the NHS staff the 1% increase, not just those who do not enjoy an incremental increase in salary linked to their length of service."
