Blizzard Conditions To Remain

Residents in Northern Ireland have been warned to expect further blizzard conditions this weekend.

A 'yellow' alert warning for snow and ice was in place in the region until 11am on Friday (30 January), but the Met Office has said that further snow showers should be expected over the weekend. In some areas, large accumulations of snow has been predicted.

The weather warning is in place from noon on Saturday and will last until 11.30pm. A new alert for snow will then commence on Sunday and remain in place until Monday evening. The weather is expected to create difficult driving conditions and motorists are advised to take additional care on the roads.

Temperatures are also expected to remain low for the next number of days.
