Police Investigate 'UDA Recruitment' Mural

Calls have been made for police to take action on a controversial mural calling for people to join the UDA.

The mural in Carrickfergus, Co Antrim, features a masked gunman and reads: "Better to die on your feet than live on your knees in an Irish Republic. Join the UDA".

In a statement, PSNI Commander T/Supt Stephen Reid said: "Police were made aware of a fresh mural in the Glenfield area.

"Local officers are making enquiries to determine the owner of the building on which the mural has been placed with a view to launching an investigation.

"We will also be working with the local authorities to progress the removal of the mural".
