Ryanair To Cut Derry To Portugal Flights

Ryanair is reportedly planning cuts to one of its routes at the City of Derry Airport.

According to a report by the BBC, the airline will reduce the number of flights from Derry to Faro in Portugal.

Last year, the route started in May, but this year it will not be commencing until July.

The news was later referenced in a message from the airport's Twitter account (@CoDerryAirport), where it said they "are still asking for additional Faro services to be added", but that only July flights were currently on sale.

Ryanair has reportedly said the decision was made due to a lack of aircraft capacity.

A spokesperson for the airport added: "A reduction in the frequency of the Faro service for Summer 2015 is disappointing, however CoDA understands that this is due to a lack of aircraft capacity."
