Absconded Prisoner Found In North Belfast

A convicted murderer who escaped from prison just before Christmas has been found in north Belfast.

Samuel McKinley was due to return to Maghaberry Prison on 22nd December following a pre-release work scheme.

He had been serving a life sentence for murder.

The 53-year-old was found in the early hours of Tuesday morning, according to police.

A file is being prepared for the Public Prosecution Service.

Funeral Of Murdered Prison Officer Takes Place In North Belfast
Hundreds of mourners gathered to attend the funeral of murdered prison officer Adrian Ismay. Mr Ismay, 52, died after being injured by a bomb which went off under the van he was driving on Hillsborough Drive on 04 March. He died as a direct result of the injuries he sustained during the explosion.

Detectives Investigate Burglary In North Belfast
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information following a report of a burglary at residential premises in the Wilton Street area of north Belfast. Between 7.30am and around 6.25 pm yesterday, 29 January, it was reported that entry was gained to a property in the area.
