Orientation Maps For EastSide And Titanic Quarter Unveiled

Two new visitor orientation maps for EastSide and Titanic Quarter that will guide visitors to the shared shipbuilding heritage of east Belfast have been unveiled.

The plans were revealed by the East Belfast Partnership and Titanic Foundation Limited with support from Belfast City Council.

The maps also highlight the many tourism attractions including Titanic Belfast, T13, W5, SS Nomadic in Titanic Quarter and Templemore Baths, Ship of Dreams Mural, The Yardmen statue and McMaster Street in EastSide.

They have been installed on either side of the Titanic Quarter Rail Halt to provide orientation for visitors travelling to the EastSide and Titanic Quarter by train, bike and on foot and highlight the close proximity of both destinations. The maps also include scannable QR codes for the Yardmen, C.S. Lewis, George Best and Van Morrison trails and the current events guide for Titanic Quarter which can be downloaded by visitors to this part of the city.

The new maps have been developed by Local Tourism Champions' Heather Chesney from East Belfast Partnership and Maeve Curran from Titanic Foundation Limited. They are two of twenty 'champions' who were selected across the city as part of Belfast City Council's Destination Belfast programme to help drive tourism development work in local communities and to encourage businesses to work in partnership to develop unique tourism products. The programme offered support including workshops, mentoring and a bursary towards product development.
