Two men charged with cigarette smuggling
Two men have been remanded on bail after being charged in connection with the smuggling of six million cigarettes into Northern Ireland.
Customs officer, James Sloan, 52, and businessman, Robert Ferguson, 44, appeared before Belfast Magistrates Court on Tuesday charged with evading duty on the cigarettes which were seized by customs last January.
The two men faced a further charge of disclosing information about customs operations contrary to the Official Secrets Act while Mr Ferguson was also charged with money laundering involving £100,000.
The two men were remanded on bail until 25 November.

Woman And Children Held Captive In Aggravated Burglary
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information after a woman and four young children were held captive as their home was ransacked in an aggravated burglary in East Belfast on Saturday, 06 April. Police received a report that around 10.45pm, four masked men entered a house in the Greenwood Hill area of Castlereagh.

Two Men Arrested In £500,000 Drug Seiure In South Belfast
Two men have been arrested in connection with a £500,000 drug seizure following searches in South Belfast. On Friday, 01 March, detectives from the PSNI's Organised Crime Branch stopped and searched two vehicles in the Lisburn Road area. Class B controlled drugs were recovered from both vehicles which were also subsequently seized.

Appeal After Masked Men Force Entry Into Home Of Elderly Man
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information after five masked me forced entry into the home of an man aged in his 70s, on the Saintfield Road. Police received a report shortly before 11.30pm on Saturday, 17th February that between 10pm and 10.30pm on the same evening, five masked men entered a house in the Saintfield Road area.
