Man charged with car deaths

A 32-year-old man has been charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving following the deaths of two teenagers in Co Antrim last week.

David McAuley, 15, from Seacourt Road in Larne and Gavin O'Neill, 16, from Gortin Park in Carnlough died when the white Ford Escort Cosworth in which they were travelling hit a wall on the Marine Road in Carnlough in the early hours of last Tuesday.

The man, who was also charged with being unfit to drive through alcohol, was released on police bail and will appear in court in Larne on Friday.

Tragedy As Second Man Killed By Train
A 62-year-old man has died in the Irish Republic after being hit by a train - the second such incident inside two days. The accident happened on the Ennis to Colbert line in the townland of Ralahine South, Newmarket-on-Fergus, Co Clare just after 10pm last night. It is believed the man was taking farm animals over the track at the time.

Belfast Man Handed Two-Year Stalking Protection Order
The PSNI have welcomed a two-year Stalking Protection Order (SPO) handed down to a 46-year-old Belfast man at Belfast Magistrates Court. The man had been found guilty of stalking and harassing his 50-year-old female ex-partner.

Man Jailed For Manslaughter Of David James Conville
A 31-year-old man has been jailed at Belfast Crown Court for the manslaughter of David James Conville in south Belfast in May, 2022. Edward Kelly was sentenced to serve three-and-a-half years, half of his sentence will be served in custody and half will be served on licence, following his guilty plea last November.
