Two Women Arrested Following Drugs Seizure

Two 23 year-old-women have been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences in Newry.

Police carried out a planned search of a house in the Richmond Court area on 20 May.

A quantity of cash and drugs in tablet, liquid, powder and resin form were seized.

The suspects were arrested on suspicion of possessing class A, B and C controlled drugs with intent to supply.

Chief Inspector Davy Beck said: "At this early stage, the initial estimated value of the seized drugs is thought to be about £10,000.

"Local police are working hard to keep people safe in the area and this operation shows that where we suspect criminality is taking place, we will act proactively and decisively."

Police are appealing for information.

Armagh man charged over drugs find
A 45-year-old County Armagh man is to appear in court following a drugs find at the weekend. The man will appear before Armagh Magistrates Court on November 28, facing charges of possession of a Class C drug, possession of a Class C drug with intent to supply, and the cultivation of a Class C drug.
