Police Appeal For Missing Man Alvydas Muskauskas

Police are appealing to the public for help to trace the whereabouts of missing 32-year-old Alvydas Muskauskas.

Mr Muskauskas was last seen leaving his home in Carrickfergus on Friday 15 May.

It is believed he travelled to Belfast.

He is described as being around 5ft 8inches tall, with short blonde fair hair and of heavy build. When last seen he was wearing a white t-shirt, white hooded top, blue jeans and trainers.

Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Absconded Convicted Murderer Returns To Custody
A convicted murderer who absconded while on temporary release from prison has been recaptured and returned to custody. 60-year-old Samuel McKinley was serving a life sentence at HMP Maghaberry for the murder of a man in Southampton in 1996. According to reports, he had been on temporary release when he went missing on 17 September.

The most fortified police stations in Northern Ireland should close, a review into policing in South Armagh has recommended. PSNI Chief Constable Simon Byrne will meet today today, Tuesday 31 August, with representatives of the local community in South Armagh to discuss the findings of a comprehensive report into policing in the local area.

Two Men Arrested Over Lyra McKee Murder
Two more men has been arrested in connection with the murder of journalist Lyra McKee. Ms McKee was murdered during rioting in the Creggan Estate in L'Derry in April 2019. Two men, aged 24 and 29, were arrested early this morning, Wednesday 22 September, and have been detained under the Terrorism Act at Musgrave Police Station in Belfast.

The Irish Football Association (IFA) must prioritise maintaining a positive relationship "with the Green and White Army", the DUP's North Belfast MLA William Humphrey has said. Mr Humphrey's made the comment ahead of a meeting between the IFA and the Amalgamation of Official Northern Ireland Supporters Clubs.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.
