Presbyterian Moderator To Be Installed Later
The Presbyterian Church is to appoint its 176th moderator in Belfast.
Reverend Ian McNie will officially take up office at the start of the Church's General Assembly later today on 1 June.
He will take over as moderator from Reverend Michael Barry.
The 64-year-old was nominated by 12 out of the 19 presbyteries in February.
Speaking on his appointment, Mr McNie said: "I am greatly humbled that so many of my colleagues in the ministry, and many ruling elders, within the various presbyteries have felt they could entrust me with this important responsibility within the Church."

New Presbyterian moderator is named
The Reverend David Clarke of Terrace Row Church in Coleraine has been named as the new moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. The 59-year-old, who is originally from Ballymena, received 14 votes out of the 21 Presbyteries who took part in yesterday's election.

Presbyterian Church confirm new moderator
The Presbyterian Church has confirmed that its next moderator will be the minister of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Ahoghill, Dr Harry Uprichard. Dr Uprichard will succeed Dr Ken Newell in June after being nominated by 12 out of the 21 Presbyteries which met on Tuesday.

The Rev Ken Newell has been unveiled as the next Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Northern Ireland. Mr Newell, 60, was nominated by 12 out of the 21 Presbyteries compared to nine for Dr Harry Uprichard, minister of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Ahoghill.

Moderator Visits Magilligan Prison
The Presbyterian Moderator has praised training and education facilities at one of NI's largest prisons. Reverend Dr Stafford Carson (pictured) visited Magilligan Prison for the first time yesterday where he met the Governor, Tom Woods and the Reverend George Simpson, who is the resident Presbyterian chaplain.

Moderator Visits Jail Inmates
Life behind bars was the order of service this week as the NI Presbyterian Moderator, the Reverend Donald Patton paid his first visit to Magilligan Prison. Reverend Patton was accompanied by his wife Florence as well as the Co Londonderry prison's own Presbyterian Chaplain, Reverend George Simpson.
