Shop In Connswater Retail Park Robbed
Police are appealing for information following a robbery at a shop in the Connswater Retail Park area of east Belfast on Sunday afternoon.
A man entered the shop, pushed a member of staff aside and took a quantity of cash from a till before making off on foot in the direction of the Newtownards Road.
The incident occurred at approximately 3.50pm.
The man is described as being aged in his late teens or early 20s and had sandy coloured spiked hair. He was wearing a white hooded top, grey shorts and white trainers.
EY Data Analytics Centre Launches
Northern Ireland's first EY Data & Analytics Academy has been launched.
Following the announcement in April 2014 that EY was creating 486 jobs in Northern Ireland, the Academy aims to provide 20 participants with the skills and experience required to take up new positions in the field of data analytics.
Employment and Learning Minister Dr Stephen Farry said: "This Academy is another excellent example of government intervention to enhance the skills of graduates and prepare them for the increasing opportunities associated with data analytics. It proves that Government and further education colleges are responding to skills needs in growth areas with bespoke programmes that meet employer’s needs. A highly skilled workforce is essential to support local business growth and to expand our economy."
Local Musician Awarded Knighthood
Alliance East Belfast MLA, Chris Lyttle, has congratulated local musician Van Morrison after he was awarded a knighthood in the Queen's birthday honours list.
Mr Lyttle MLA: "This is great news that one of the most famous sons of East Belfast has been given such a prestigious honour. It thoroughly deserved and I would like to extend my congratulations to one of the world's most famous and talented musicians.
"He has kept his links to East Belfast, has helped put Eastside Arts Festival on the map and was recently given the freedom of his home city."

PwC To Create 600 Jobs In NI
Professional services company PwC is set to create 600 new jobs in Northern Ireland over the next five years. The Department for the Economy has collaborated with Belfast Met, Ulster University (UU) and PwC to introduce the £4.4 million training programme of skills academies. The initiatives will be delivered by Belfast Met and the university.
