Four arrests made following drugs find

Four people have been arrested after police uncovered drugs worth an estimated £250,000 during an operation on the outskirts of Belfast.

Cannabis resin and a substantial amount of cash were found after police searched two cars in Dundonald on Tuesday night. More cannabis was also found in a subsequent search of premises in the area.

The two women and two men who where arrested are being questioned by police.

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Seven Police Officers Disciplined Over Pensioner's Death
Seven police officers have been disciplined over an investigation into the death of Lisburn man Jim Heasley in October 2010. The 70-year-old was assaulted as he walked home from Lagan Valley Pigeon Club. An investigation by the Police Ombudsman found a series of failings in the initial police response.

Two charged over M1 car chase
Two men are to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court today in connection with a high-speed car chase in which four police officers were hurt. The incident occurred at 2am on Sunday morning when police pursued a vehicle which had allegedly been stolen in Loughgall, Co Armagh. During the chase four police officers were hurt and two arrests made.

Five Men Arrested Over George Gilmore Murder
Five people have been arrested in connection with the murder of George Gilmore. Mr Gilmore was shot in the neck in Carrickfergus on 13 March this year. He was taken to hospital but died the next day. The PSNI also searched two properties in the area. The suspects have been taken to Musgrave Police Station for questioning.

Arrests As Police Detect Drugs Activity
Police in Lisburn have arrested three individuals after coming across an amount of Class A and B drugs while patrolling the area. A routine car stop on Thursday evening, 30 May, saw a man inside a vehicle produce suspected cannabis.
