Kennedy out of Armenia game

Sammy McIlroy will be without defender Peter Kennedy for tonight's visit of Armenia to Windsor Park after the Wigan full-back came down with a stomach bug.

Kennedy is likely to be replaced by up and coming star Grant McCann of Cheltenham. McCann should know all about the Armenian's having played in 1-0 defeat away in Yerevan in March.

Fortunately for Northern Ireland, winger Keith Gillespie has been declared fit for Wednesday night's game having recovered from a slight hamstring injury.

Michael Hughes will not play however having been booked during Saturday's 0-0 draw away to Ukraine. He will either be replaced by Philip Mulryne or Andy Smith as Sammy McIlroy adopts a more attack minded set up for tonight's game.

Roy Carroll and Colin Murdock have also returned o the Northern Ireland squad having missed the trip to Ukraine because of injury, however they are expected to start the game on the bench.
