TV licensing officer attacked in Co Antrim
A television licensing officer has been left badly shaken after being attacked by two people in Co Antrim today.
The female officer was returning to her car after making calls to houses in the Seacourt Estate in Larne when she was attacked by two people wielding an iron bar and hatchet.
She escaped injury in the attack which happened at around 1.30pm.
Elsewhere, 24-year-old Londonderry man has appeared in court charged with attempting to murder two police constables by driving at them.
John Patrick Johnston, from Carnhill, denied the charges which are believed to relate to an incident that occurred on Sunday.
He was remanded in custody until 2 October.

The homes of two Prison Officers have been targeted in separate incidents last night. In Carnmoney, the home of a prison officer was damaged while his car was also set on fire. In nearby Ballyduff, a house which used to belong to a prison officer was attacked with petrol bombs.

Two people have escaped injury following a petrol bomb attack on a house in Ballymena, Co Antrim. The attack happened in the Railway street area just after midnight on Friday, 23 February. Two petrol bombs were thrown at the property as well as two bricks.

Female Prison Officer Injured After Being Attacked At Magahberry Jail
A female prison officer has been injured after being attacked by a male inmate at Maghaberry Prison just outside Lisburn. A sharp weapon is believed to have been used. The officer was taken to hospital to be treated. A Prison Service spokesperson said: "A prison officer has suffered a serious injury following an assault by a prisoner in Maghaberry.

A police officer failed to summon medical assistance for a man who had been attacked outside a nightclub in County Antrim, according to a report by the Police Ombudsman. The man suffered head and face injuries after intervening to help a friend who was being attacked by five other men outside a nightclub in November 2014.
