Man Arrested After Bomb Placed Under Car In L'Derry

A man has been arrested in connection with a bomb placed under a police officer's car in L'Derry.

It is understood that the officer was in bed at her home in Eglinton, when she "heard a noise outside". Looking out the window, the officer is said to have observed someone lying underneath her car.

No-one was injured in the attack.

Police arrested a 57-year-old man on Thursday.

He has been taken to the Serious Crime Suite at Antrim Police Station where he is assisting police with their enquiries.

Armed Robber Dresses As Police Officer
Police are searching for two men in connection with the attempted armed robbery of a shop in Co Armagh. Police said that one of the men who attempted to rob the shop on West Street, Portadown, was dressed as a policeman. Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Man Wanted In Lithuania Arrested In Magherafelt
The PSNI have arrested a 23-year-old man in Magherafelt wanted in Lithuania to face charges of human trafficking. The man was arrested by officers from the Police Service's local policing team in Magherafelt, with assistance from the International Policing Unit. He is expected appear before extradition court in Belfast later today.

Man Arrested After Car Driven At Police Officer
A 41-year-old man has been arrested after a car was driven at a police officer in County Antrim. It is understood that police were dealing with an unrelated matter in the Bridge Street area just before 2am this morning, 09 November, when a BMW car was driven at an officer.
