Police Appeal Following Attempted Stabbing In West Belfast

Police are appealing for information after a man, who was walking with his son, was attacked in west Belfast.

The incident occurred in the Odessa Street area on Wednesday 24 June.

The victim was walking along the road with his son when a man attempted to stab him. The attacker then head butted him while continuing to try to stab him.

He is described as being approximately 6ft tall, well built, with dark shaved hair and stubble on his face.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Police Cancel Appeal For Missing Omagh Man
Police have said they believe missing Omagh man, Shane Sharkey, has been found in the Republic of Ireland. A police appeal for help in finding the 35-year-old has been cancelled, with police saying they now believe they know where he is. No further details have been released but police thanked the public for their help.

Police Appeal After 'Shot Fired' In North Belfast
Police have launched an investigation after reports of a shot being fired in north Belfast. No-one is believed to have been injured in the incident in the Farringdon Court area on Thursday. Police are keen to establish what happened and are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Missing Man Found 'Safe And Well'
Missing man Declan Mawhinney has been found safe and well, according to the police. Mr Mawhinney, 46, went missing from Letterkenny on Saturday at approximately 11.40pm. A missing person appeal was launched by the police and his family. He was located in Letterkenny on Tuesday. Police thank the public for their assistance.
