Man Charged With Two Counts Of Attempted Murder

A man has appeared in court charged with two counts of attempted murder after two women were hit by a car in north Belfast on Monday.

A 16-year-old girl was injured after being trapped under the car on the Crumlin Road, however she is in a stable condition in hospital.

John Alexander Aughey, 61, of Brae Hill, Ballysillan, confirmed he understood the charges against him.

He has been released on strict bail conditions and is due to appear in court in four weeks.

Man Robs Drugs From Belfast Pharmacy
Police are hunting a suspect after a quantity of drugs were robbed from a pharmacy in west Belfast. Staff at a business in Dunmurry's Mount Eagles Square were threatened shortly before 9am on Wednesday 16 October. The man entered claiming he was there to collect a prescription before demanding staff hand over the drugs.

Man Seriously Injured In Belfast City Centre
Police have issued an appeal after a man was seriously injured in Belfast City Centre in recent months. An incident reportedly occurred in the Shaftsbury Square area of the city at around 2.30am on Saturday morning, 24 August. Members of the public are urged to think back to that date and whether they were in the area at the time.

Man Shot In Both Legs In L'Derry
A man has been shot in both legs in L'Derry. The victim, aged in his 30s, was targeted at a house in Margaret Street in the Waterside area. Two masked men entered the property at around 8.45pm and carried out the attack. The victim was taken to hospital for his injuries.
