SDLP MLA To Meet With Roads Service Following Fatal Accident In Co Down

An SDLP MLA is to meet with the Roads Service following a fatal accident in County Down.

A man was killed in a collision, between a car and a lorry, on the Killowen Road on Tuesday.

However, there was another accident close to the same site on Wednesday morning at around 8am.

South Down MLA Karen McKevitt extended her deepest sympathies to the victim's family.

She said: "The driver sustained injuries but thankfully they aren't critical.

"I would urge all drivers in the area to exercise extreme caution in the time ahead. I will be meeting with Roads Service as soon as possible to explore what can be done to make the stretch of road safer for all users."
