Two Women Arrested Following £240,000 Amphetamines Find

Two women have been arrested after police seized suspected amphetamines worth an estimated street value of £240,000 in Newtownabbey on Tuesday.

Following a planned search of a dwelling in the Doagh Road area detectives from the Reactive and Organised Crime Branch arrested the women aged 46 and 27 on suspicion of possession of class B drugs and possession with intent to supply class B drugs.

Detective Chief Inspector Colin Gillis said: "This was a significant find and has taken potentially dangerous drugs off the streets.

"This seizure is another example of PSNI commitment to policing the threat posed by drugs in Northern Ireland. We will continue to work alongside our partner agencies in relation to the illegal supply of drugs."
