Paul McCauley Murder - Woman Arrested

A 25-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of withholding information in connection with the murder of Paul McCauley.

Police made the arrest in L'Derry on Wednesday morning.

Mr McCauley, 38, died last month in a care facility almost nine years after an attack in July 2006. He was attending a summer BBQ at the rear of a house in Chapel Road on 15 July 2006. At 3.20am on 16 July, only three people remained at the BBQ. A group of up to 15 people came from out of the bushes and attacked Paul and two of his friends.

He died from his injuries last month.

A total of eight people have been arrested since his death.

A 24-year-old man has been charged with murder.

Man Charged In Possession Of Heroin
A man is to appear in court charged in possession of heroin. Police arrested five people during searches of a property in Newry on Wednesday, 16 January. Two men have also been charged in possession of a Class A drug. A 50-year-old woman has also been charged with permitting premises to be used for the supply of a Class A drug.

Five to appear in court in connecton with Bangor robbery
Five youths are to appear in Downpatrick Magistrates Court today charged in connection with the robbery of an off-licence in Bangor on Tuesday night. Two youths, who entered the premises on the Rathgael Road, assaulted two female members of staff before making off with a sum of money and alcohol.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Attempted Murder
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder over an attack in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. A man, aged in his 50s, is in a critical condition in hospital after he was assaulted at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Monday, 26 September. Two other men were also arrested and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
