Kevin McGuigan Murder: Bobby Storey Released

Senior republican Bobby Storey has been released unconditionally after he was arrested in connection with the murder of Kevin McGuigan.

Mr McGuigan was shot outside his home in the Short Strand area in east Belfast last month.

Two well known republicans, believed to be Eddie Copeland and Brian Gillen, have also been released.

Sinn Féin Leader Gerry Adams TD, said: "The unconditional release of Bobby Storey underlines the contrived nature of the current crisis in the political institutions in the North.

"I want to reiterate my grave concern about the nature in which the murder of two men has been exploited and also at the way the current difficulties have developed in the last few weeks, including the arrest of Bobby Storey."
