Elderly Woman Targeted In Distraction Burglary

Police have launched an investigation after an elderly woman was targeted in an attempted 'distraction burglary' in Belfast.

The incident occurred in the Lawnview Street area at around 5.35pm on Wednesday.

Three males claiming to be from a local authority called at the door and asked to go through her house and check the guttering.

The woman refused to let them in.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Appeal Following Serious Assault And Robbery In Antrim
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information and witnesses after a man was assaulted and robbed in Antrim during the early hours of Monday, 18 March. The 26-year-old was walking in an alleyway adjacent to Seacash Drive at around 3.50am when he was approached by two men.

Two distraction robberies in Portadown
Police in Portadown have appealed for information following two distraction robberies in the area yesterday afternoon. Shortly before 1pm, a woman called to the home of a 90-year-old woman in the Clonallen Avenue area of the town, and asked if she could check her back garden for a ball which had been kicked in by accident.
