Schools To Highlight Dangers Of Concussion

Lesson plans for schools to highlight the dangers of concussion have been launched.

The new web-based resources, which are available in English and Irish, are aimed at Key Stage 1 through to Key Stage 4 and provide information and activities to help equip pupils with the knowledge they need to recognise the signs and potential dangers of concussion.

The lesson plans which include information for both teachers and pupils, are presented as pupil activities and assist in raising the awareness of concussion and how pupils should respond to protect their own and other's health.

Man Shot In Both Legs In West Belfast
Police have issued an appeal for information following a shooting incident in west Belfast. According to reports, a man, aged in his 30s, was shot in both legs in a "paramilitary-style attack" on Downfine Walk in Turf Lodge at about 20:10 last night.

Renewed Appeal For Information On Murder Of James Donegan
The PSNI have issued a fresh appeal for information on the murder of James Donegan, who was shot dead outside a school in West Belfast on Tuesday 04 December, 2018. The 43-year-old father, known as Jim, was murdered as he sat waiting to pick up his 13-year-old son in his red Porsche Panamera, registration JDZ34, on the Glen Road in west Belfast.

The facility was uncovered after police had earlier arrested a 45-year-old man in the Castlereagh Street area of Belfast on suspicion of a number of drugs offences.
