Bombardier And Airbus End Talks Over CSeries Jet Investment

Aerospace firm Bombardier has confirmed it held talks with the Airbus Group over plans to invest in its CSeries jet program.

However, in a statement both companies have said the discussions are "no longer being pursued".

There has been a lack of sales in the Cseries for some time.

In a statement Bombardier said: "As previously mentioned, Bombardier will continue to explore initiatives such as a potential participation in industry consolidation. The Corporation will neither comment nor speculate on the potential outcomes of its commercial discussions."

The Airbus Group also released a statement which said: "Airbus Group confirms that it has been exploring business opportunities with Canada-based Bombardier Inc. and that such discussions are no longer being pursued.

"The Group will refrain from any further comment."

Bombardier is the largest manufacturing employer in Northern Ireland.
