Investigation Launched Following Suspicious Fire In L'Derry

Police have launched an investigation following a suspicious fire at a quarry in Magherafelt, Co L'Derry.

The blaze, inside a building at Hogg's Quarry on the Tobermore Road, occurred at around 9.45pm on Friday.

Detective Sergeant David Hallawell said: "This fire caused extensive damage to the building and completely destroyed some expensive plant machinery.

"We would like to hear from witnesses or anyone with information about this crime. We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who travelled along the Tobermore Road between 7pm and 9.45pm on Friday night and who may have noticed anything that could assist the investigation."
